The Service-Learning Advantage is a program unique to Truman State University that provides an opportunity for students to engage in co-curricular service-learning. The program is designed to support student organizations, their leaders, and faculty advisors as they create and implement a service-learning project within the workings of their current organizational structure and activities. Ultimately, the purpose of the Service-Learning Advantage program is to afford another opportunity for Truman students to participate in service-learning and community-engaged leadership.
Every project must have a Project Facilitator that is responsible for assisting the Service-Learning Coordinator in the project documentation and assuring that all academic criteria are met. Students who decide to participate in a Service-Learning Advantage project do not receive academic credit for the experience, but will be able to record their participation on the Co-Curricular Record that will become available in the fall of 2008.
